Three of the largest FFXIV Optimization focused raiding communities are coming together to host an event that celebrates the achievements of players throughout the course of Endwalker. It’s called The Parsies and the idea behind it is to promote the high end raiding and optimization scene while also making it more inviting to newer players.

The Awards

The event will feature rewards in different categories and not all of them are focused on the highest performing players. Aside from more expected things like awards for the top performing teams in both the parsing and speeds categories, there are other creative rewards like “Most Dependable” which is meant for the player who is always willing to sub in or “#1 PF Demon” for the player that you always seem to run into when you join parties. There are even fun rewards like “Funniest Optimization Video” and “Most Interesting UI”.

You can vote for any player that you feel is deserving of recognition here and the top 3 will make it to the final round where a jury panel will decide on the winner for each category.

Uniting Players Of All Skill Levels

I love the way that this event is designed and really appreciate the efforts to focus on more than just the best. Optimization and improvement in raiding can be things that all levels of players can enjoy whether or not you’re trying to plan your mitigation for more limit break generation or simply trying to understand your basic rotation. For many players, it can feel like the high end raiding community seems uninviting and hard to get into so leaning into social experiences like this can be a great way for new or curious players to experience the scene.

Future Collaborations

The event itself is being hosted by The Anonymous Raiding and Parsing Discord, The Crystal ERParsers Discord, and The Primal Optimization Group Discord. In my experience (at least with ARP and POG since CERP is an exclusive community for high parsing players and I don’t have the credentials for it haha), these are some of the greatest communities and resources for people looking to break into high end raiding and spread their wings more beyond the resources that can be found in places like The Balance. There is plenty of overlap between the members of the three discords and I’m sure that all of them hope to add new members to their communities.

What’s exciting is that this event will be happen again at the end of of every raid tier patch (7.0, 7.2, and 7.3). This is but one of the sure to be many new examples of the raiding communities coming together in this new partnership to host events and I’m excited to see what the future holds!
